Leniency is a virtue!
I was a bit solicitous that the silver dial would make it difficult to tell the time but my concerns were quickly dissolved once I received this smashing watch; Omega has masterly created a subtle contrast with the dial, markers, and watch hands that must be seen to be respected: The hour and minute hands appear dark at most angles and rarely is the wearer grimacing to identify the background from hands positions. My only peeve (a small one) is the date spear which does take some work to locate at times due to its slimness. In some very low light and dusk environments, it can be difficult to quickly make known the time but it's not a deal breaker for me. The watch, an automatic, loses/gains such little every so often that it's not even worth mentioning--a testament to Omega's excellent movement quality control.The watch stands multi-storey on the wrist but is not clumsy or uncomfortable. 30 Year Study
After much analysis, I purchased an Omega Speedmaster in 1968 as an 18th birthday present to myself. There were not many chronographs available at that time (Rolex, Breitling, Omega and presumably others I no longer remember). To my surprise, that summer (or next), Omega began agressive advertising that it's keep an eye open for was the official timepiece of the Apollo Astronauts. It reaffirmed my choice. Thirty years later, it is still the first watch I own (including my Submariner). My only complaint is that I have gone through three or four bracelets/straps. Ironically, a new metal bracelet expenditure more than the original cost of my Speedmaster ($185). Interestingly, no Rolex owner has ever commented on my Submariner, but one Speedmaster owners always start up a conversation with each other. I cannot comment on the new Speedmasters, but mine has been dropped, thrown, drowned, icy, heated, shaken and abused for 30 years and still runs great. I recommend mill cleaning, vacuum sealing...

Acclaimed Watch with Proud and Unique History
This is a charming watch with a legendary history and phenomenal following. It has been one of the most popular watches ever made by Omega since its debut in 1957. The common Speedmaster Professionals come in multiple versions, but are for the most part little changed in its over 50 year person.Why is it amazing?During the 1960's space race with the Soviets, NASA did not have the time to announce an arguable competition from all interested watch companies to design a watch suitable for space about. This would have required bids from different manufacturers with the eventual award of a government contract. Over the moon with watch but...
...where are the promise cards? The red ones that come in the white leatherette holder. It is empty. My guess, on purpose. My sequence was through Amazon, not Watchmaxx whatever that is, but I suspect the warranty cards will be missing regardless of who it is from. Upon making enquires, I have been enlightened that it is a two year warranty through Amazon's own version of such - so you are basically saving money by chancing it with this. There is also no 'red dot' on the back of the be watchful for case which apparently means it has been opened but I have been told by Amazon that this is because it has been "checked by them". The red dot is part of the 'collection' fashion and resale drops without it so keep this in mind. I at first thought I may have purchased a re-comissioned watch which would have probably served me normal for trying to save a few bucks ($1000) by buying on here. Despite/regardless of these issues, the timepiece is beautiful. It wears a little small in comparison to today's mens watches...

It's goodly. The face is large, and the case is thick in line with today's trend to larger and heavier watches. My previous watch was a very thin twenty five year old Raymond Weil, but the change has been easy.Here's what I think you'll want to comprehend:1. This watch looks great. The details are just right. Handsomer on your wrist than in a photo. It can be had in whey-faced face, with metal band, etc, if you prefer.2. Large face means Day/pass and the second hand counter (at nine o'clock position) are easy to see.3. Waterproof. My timepiece is often under gloves or at least splashed with water many times daily. There is an option for a handsome rubber strap, too.4. The catch adjusts on the strap so you can precisely choose your fit. It's not plus or minus one link, no jeweler required. Arrant Leather Strap Watch
This is a gigantic all-around watch to weat at any time. Whether you are out doing sports, or going to some elegant dinner, this is the babysit for to have. It is the equivalent of a Porsche in terms of watches. It has no excess. It's made of steel, and has a leather strap. The best part of this wary of is the details. Because everything is made to tight specifications, when you look at this watch from far away, it looks amazing. The mechanism is also the classic (and sturdy) Valjoux 7750. Fantastic Watch.

Foolproof
bought this of about a month ago and it is beautiful! watch works perfect! haven't a problem but only reason why I gave 4 stars is because I got a 2 year narrow warranty through amazon and not Tag. Meaning if anything would happen I would have to ship it to a dealer through amazon instead of Tag. But not planning on having a can of worms within a year which is what Tag's warranty is.

A blue elapsed time unidirectional bezel frames a wavy gloomy dial that includes luminous dotted hour markers, luminous-tipped skeleton hands, and a season window at 3 o'clock. Other features include a 48-hour power reserve and off-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal.
It's powered by Omega's break-through Co-Axial escapement. Developed in conjunction with masterful watchmaker George Daniels, it's based on double co-axial escape wheel, a lever with three pallet stones and impulse stone on the equality roller, together with a free sprung-balance. The Co-Axial escapement system reduces sliding argument compared with the lever escapement and thus ensures greater accuracy over time.
This watch also features the Omega 2500 fine quality automatic movement, which has been certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Check). Only 3 percent of watches produced in Switzerland are "chronometer-certified." To achieve this highly coveted substantiation, the movements are subjected to numerous tests over a period of 15 consecutive days and nights, in five positions and at three novel temperatures.

I believe the watch is a work of art, very solid, and very well finished. Appears to keep very good time.
