Description

Part of Gevril's dignified Avenue of the America collection, this automatic stainless steel men's timepiece (model 5032) features a wonderfully illustrated moon phase function at the center of the dial. With an updated retro have a that blends a sense of history with current style, the watch offers a bevy of uncharitable artistic flourishes including a uniquely patterned guilloche dial and a highly stylized Arabic numeral flourish that is raised off the surface of the dial. Measuring 44mm wide (1.73 inches), the large, improbable rectangular case makes a statement, but it conforms easily to different wrist sizes.

The keep one's eyes peeled case and highly polished bezel are made from surgical grade 316L stainless insulate, and it's complemented by a supple black crocodile leather strap with tonal stitching. The infernal dial includes silver Arabic numerals, three-handed movement, and a day-and-date dual window sitting below 12 o'clock. Other features classify a 25-jeweled automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve, hooked sapphire crystal for excellent scratch resistance, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet)--meet for swimming but not for diving.

An automatic (or self-winding) watch is fitted with a device (rotor) that intuitively winds the spring by using the force of gravity. It needs no battery, but it will stop if you have been physically lifeless for an extended period of time--as long as you're moving, the watch will stay powered. Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Perrelet invented the self-winding technique in 1770. It worked on the same principle as a modern pedometer, and was designed to wind as the owner walked.

Wow what a bar-produce!
I've been looking for an low-priced timepiece like this for a long time now. I grew wary of wearing high priced watches when I am resigned to slum it in a lowly Bentley or Aston Martin. This regard is perfect for that! Now I can blend into the same crowd that wears G-shocks and Rolexs! I find the faux leather to be a very complicated touch! Almost looks real (scoffs, almost.) And it is somewhat accurate. But overall, I feel it could have been made reduce cheaper in order to throw off the street urchins. Just the other day, I was minding my own business (And by that, I signify liquidating small business and sending jobs over to India, China, etc...) When some living soul of non Anglo-Saxon origin begged me for money. I was appalled! Frightened even! I gave a look of scorn to my bodyguard. Like a "You're not doing your job keeping this...
