Add a precise classic to your timepiece collection with the amazingly precise and rugged Omega Speedmaster day-and-date men's care for (model 3222.80.00), the latest generation that first started with the timepiece designed for NASA in the 1960s. It features the Omega 3606 excellence automatic movement, which has been certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Authority over). Only 3 percent of watches produced in Switzerland are "chronometer-certified." To achieve this highly coveted endorsement, the movements are subjected to numerous tests over a period of 15 consecutive days and nights, in five positions and at three unconventional temperatures.

The watch also includes a central chronograph hand with 30-minute and 12-hour subdial totalizers, 24-hour subdial, and day and month windows. The pre-eminently a free, round watch measures 39mm wide (1.54 inches) and 15mm thick (0.59 inches), and it's topped by a filthy-plated bezel with tachymeter readings. The blue dial background has a circular Geneva gesticulation pattern, luminous silver-tone hands, luminous tipped stick hour markers, and diminutive second indexes. It's completed by a silver stainless steel link bracelet party that offers polished highlights, which is joined by a secure, push-button clasp. Other features cover a scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal, and water defiance to 100 meters (330 feet)--offering protection from accidental splashes as well seemly for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational diving.

    Automatic Watch Movement
An unconscious watch is self-winding, and its movement has a reserve that must be at least partially filled prior to being spent. This is done by shaking and winding the timepiece manually. In order for an automatic timepiece to keep a reserve, it must be jaded daily for 8 hours of active wear. This watch as a 44-hour power engage.

    How to Use a Tachymeter
A tachymeter is an instrument for measuring speed. It is a chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be scan off in kilometers per hour based on 1000 meters distance. For example, the chronograph indicates that the haughtiness of one kilometer has been covered in 30 seconds. The corresponding point on the tachymeter scale indicates 120, and thus the streak is 120km per hour.

    The Omega Story
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began deliver assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest locale of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were bewitched over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous concealment and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with going round ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.

But Omega is more than justifiable a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned set out missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including expiration grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The uttermost moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's fa as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega swing is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to terminate temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

    A Enduring
A observation for the collector who prizes the ideosyncratic. Omega has created a quirky day/date automatic (a big deal in the note world) that isn't the price of an automobile. All automatics are a little less exact than quartz as far as timekeeping goes, but my speedmaster only gains about two minutes per month, and since I like using it, I don't thinking remember re-setting it from time to time. The actual user manual is on-line, very specific and distinct about the controls. But if you have no fascination with the art of watchmaking and the "complications" of authentic, quality Swiss watchwork, go with a quartz; it's less "travail"...
    Lovely watch!
This is a fantabulous watch and looks absolutely better in person. This Speedmaster is part of the Michael Schumacher collecting. The watch matches very well with sporty clothes, and even business attire. Its an attractive watch that looks its assess, but not gaudy. The blue is deep enough to wear with a black suit, and the dials glow in the cloudy. It's an automatic watch so you will first have to wind the crown about 20 times to get it charged up and then wear it about 8 hours a day to keep the in store power going. I purchased this from Amazon at a discount compared to the shops at the mall. It comes with serial numbers laser inscribed, certificates, box, and holder. The only thing you won't get is the Omega authorized dealer warranty card, but it's an authentic watch sold by Amazon, and Amazon offers a 2 year assurance if you buy it from them, meaning they have to be the seller and not a Z shop. I love it.
Only constituent missing is a GMT hand! j/k
This is the most elaborate mechanical/automatic watch I own. I bought this exact model a little over 2 years ago from an authorized businessman overseas. I remember debating over the blue versus black dial and eventually the down in the mouth won. The detail on the dial and inner dials is amazing and complement each other well. This watch in this color is unofficially part of the Michael Schumacher gleaning as well. Unofficial I think b/c there is no signature on the back but it shows up in his collection on Omega's website, at least it did awhile ago. There are 8 hands complete: hour, minute, second, 24-hour, timer minute, timer hour, timer patronize, and date hand. This chronograph does not keep elasped time but it does reset to zero instantly upon knob push. The month and day are easy to read but the date is difficult to read due to small marker tip and busyness of the outer edge of the dial. I often mistaken the date markers as minute markers when environs time. The lume on the markers is not as...

Set a speed for adventure with this classic Omega Seamaster 300M stainless steel men's automatic chronometer chronometer, part of Omega's James Bond collection. You'll be able to negotiate all manner of adventures and still look chic in the boardroom or at the baccarat table. This highly accurate, self-winding timepiece is also a skilled diving watch, with water resistance to 300 meters (984 feet) and a helium levant valve, which allows helium to escape from inside the watch when the watch is worn in warmly pressurized environments (such as long-term underwater work evading the bad guys). The thickset silver rhodium-plated case measures 41mm wide (1.61 inches) and it's complemented by a ample stainless steel bracelet band. A blue elapsed time unidirectional bezel frames a wavy filthy dial that includes luminous dotted hour markers, luminous-tipped skeleton hands, and a steady old-fashioned window at 3 o'clock. Other features include a 48-hour power reserve and line up to standard-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal.

It's powered by Omega's break-through Co-Axial escapement. Developed in conjunction with principal watchmaker George Daniels, it's based on double co-axial escape wheel, a lever with three pallet stones and impulse stone on the stability roller, together with a free sprung-balance. The Co-Axial escapement system reduces sliding bad blood compared with the lever escapement and thus ensures greater accuracy over time.

This watch also features the Omega 2500 flimsiness automatic movement, which has been certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Supervise). Only 3 percent of watches produced in Switzerland are "chronometer-certified." To achieve this highly coveted substantiation, the movements are subjected to numerous tests over a period of 15 consecutive days and nights, in five positions and at three weird temperatures.

James Covenant is Back in Casino Royale
This 2006 number of the famous James Bond watch made its debut in the movie Casino Royale. In point of fact, there are two Omega watches in the movie; the limited edition Omega Seamaster Plant Ocean Big Size 2907.50.91 and the meagre edition Omega Seamaster Chronometer 2226.80.00. The watch offered here carries on the James Handcuffs style without the limited edition price tag. This style of the James Bond watch first appeared in the film 'Golden Eye' (1995) and is still available as the full size gents model 2531.80.00. The new 2006 epitome 2220.80.00 has several refinements that you should consider over the previous (but still available) model. Most notably, the automatic advance now has the newly designed Co-Axial escapement. The Co-Axial Technology reduces sliding strife compared with the lever escapement in the previous model and ensures greater accuracy over metre. More importantly, it doesn't require servicing for 10 years versus 2-3 years in the antecedent to model...
    Incredible Omega Watch From Amazon!!
Well, I suppose I was supposed to have this watch. I had always wanted a Seamaster Cronometer Automatic, but never saw myself spending this kind of resources, not to mention the price at an authorized dealer. Amazon sent me an email a week or so ago that had celebratory 12 months no interest on select watches. I looked and looked and finally pulled the trigger on this spectacular blue face large size automatic. Actually, I ordered on July 31, 2009 and for $6.99 spear-carrier with Amazon Prime had it at my door before 10:00 a.m. this morning. It's a good thing I took profit of the offer, because as of today, the "12 months" offer is no more and the price has actually gone up! I had pretty of a concern by ordering a "gray market" watch, but I had ordered a Luminox ETA automatic from Amazon about 4 or 5 years ago and had skilled luck with it and also saved about $200.00. I read all of the reviews here on Amazon and even went to watch forums such as [...] and presume from reviews...
    Amazon Jewels Warranty/Support/Repair is questionable
I reckon the watch is a work of art, very solid, and very well finished. Appears to keep very good time. My only concern with the unscathed transaction has to do with Amazon warranty/support on the watch. I was having difficulty with getting the stage to change correctly and initially thought there was a problem with the watch. I called Amazon to ask them about it and to announce them that there might be a problem with my watch. They said someone from the Jewelry dept at Amazon would call me the next day to address my concerns or send me a new wait for (I am within the 30 days of purchase). It has been 2 weeks, I am beyond my 30 days not for exchange and the Amazon Studs dept has yet to call me. I have left another message. I hope I have solved the situation with the date functionality as it appears to be working now but I am surprised at Amazon corroborate. I have not run into this before with Amazon but I have also not purchased jewelry from them befor. There may be an issue that buyers need to...

    Very accurate watch
I don't typically splash out over $200 on my watches. They take too much of a beating to justify buying expensive ones. In this instance, I made an exception. However, I'm not an boffin or connoisseur on fine watches. I'm just an average man looking for a nice, sturdy watch. I once upon a time used a Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry watch for day to day wear. It's a very simple, venerable watch which is well constructed. My biggest complaint with the watch was the lifespan of the leather band but that is without difficulty remedied. Unfortunately, ever since I had the battery changed by a local jewelry shop, it's no longer waterproof (my misidentify as for not sending it in). Anyway, I was in the market for a new, water-resistant watch would I could wear everyday and intended to stay with Victorinox based on my previous experience. While looking through the collection of Victorinox watches, I discovered this one. I in point of fact liked the look of the metal on this watch. This remains true...
    Best Watch
Unforgivable watch for diving, which is it's MAIN presentation. It's disigned to tell you your time of dive with both Bezel and chrono indications. Yes, it's pretty for every day time and chrono. But Diving is what its all about. This is an ETA calibre 251.262. Which is an upper level quartz upward. It's deadly accurate, and it's hands are spot on their markings. In the $500 range it's a bargin if it's the kindly of watch you are looking for. This is as close as you are going to get to water "PROOF" @ 730.54 lbs/ sq. inch (500M) or 49.69 Atmospheres. Although, I'd have to see it to definitely believe it...:) And I'm NOT taking it down that far to find out! EDIT: I should mention that although listed as a BLACK face in both the conceive of and the description, it's really GUN METAL GREY which matches the case and bezel and looks momentous. A unique watch, I'm very happy with it. Three days now and it's...
    Cogent Watch
The secret metal finish looks even better in person. The case is a little larger than I expected but I like it in that the pocket watch feels heavy and solid. Screw down crown and good to 500 metres...wondrous...not that it matters to me since it will never see the ocean. Great price for a quality watch to add to your collection. I am very happy with my position.

    30 Year Fly-past
After much examination, I purchased an Omega Speedmaster in 1968 as an 18th birthday present to myself. There were not many chronographs available at that time (Rolex, Breitling, Omega and in all likelihood others I no longer remember). To my surprise, that summer (or next), Omega began agressive advertising that it's take care of was the official timepiece of the Apollo Astronauts. It reaffirmed my choice. Thirty years later, it is still the first watch I own (including my Submariner). My only complaint is that I have gone through three or four bracelets/straps. Ironically, a new metal bracelet expenditure more than the original cost of my Speedmaster ($185). Interestingly, no Rolex owner has ever commented on my Submariner, but swain Speedmaster owners always start up a conversation with each other. I cannot comment on the new Speedmasters, but mine has been dropped, thrown, drowned, white, heated, shaken and abused for 30 years and still runs great. I recommend works cleaning, vacuum sealing...
Romantic Watch with Proud and Unique History
This is a pleasant watch with a legendary history and phenomenal following. It has been one of the most popular watches ever made by Omega since its debut in 1957. The current Speedmaster Professionals make in multiple versions, but are for the most part little changed in its over 50 year life. Why is it stunning? During the 1960's space race with the Soviets, NASA did not have the time to announce an direct competition from all interested watch companies to design a watch suitable for space touring. This would have required bids from different manufacturers with the eventual award of a government contract. NASA engineers in campagna clothes went to downtown Houston and entered various high end stores and purchased apex-end (i.e. expensive) manual wind wristwatches from 10 different brands, such as Omega, Rolex, etc. This was all done in mysteriously and none of the watch manufacturers, such as Omega, were aware of this. NASA subjected the watches to grueling tests of...
The most suitable watch for years and years
Chap Video Review Length:: 3:43 MinsI've owned this watch for over 5 years now and have beat it every single day since the day I bought it. I intend to keep it for years (probably for the rest of my life) as it remains the most grand and stylish (elegant yet functional) watch I've ever owned (and I've owned and sold quite a few). The Speedmaster has all the please and extreme accruracy of a Rolex, yet none of the gaudiness-it's understated, cool but not too cool. Looking at it evokes a brains of faith in exploration and the adrenaline rush of speed and the force of Gs or zero gravity. With it's vicious dial and white hands, and brushed silver bracelet and casing, the Speedmaster is one of the overpower executed designs to come out of the last 100 years and certainly one of the most classic timepieces ever. There are other models that come forward things since as a day/date, or a slightly smaller size, or a glass crystal instead of the unswerving Hesalite plastic one, but these are not the...
